What are the functions of a satellite TV receiver: There are many functions of a satellite TV receiver, but I will explain the main one. When a transmission from a satellite is received by a satellite dish it needs to be translated into a language that the TV can understand and project onto the screen. This is where the satellite TV receiver comes into place. This contraption allows the signal to be directly entered into the TV and projected.

Other functions to a satellite TV receiver: A receiver can also send the signal to other rooms in the building. Some receivers all have the same frequency which causes all of the receivers to show the image that is playing on the main receiver, the one that receives the signal first.
